Oh, I wish this wasn’t all true…
Chub Chub is a scamp. A cheeky tyke, who’s rather a handful – the sort of kid who’s fun for a while, but you’re glad you don’t have to cope with him all the time.
The World of Chub Chub follows the rollicking childhood antics of writer, Neil Gibson. Originally intended as a heartfelt gift to his mother, Chub Chub turned into a series of playful tales essential to being a kid.
From firsts sips of coffee to pranks played on unwilling siblings, Gibson, with illustrations by Ness and colours by Jan Wijngaard, has created a series of pieces that are just plain fun, perfect for sharing or for giggling by one’s self.
The only thing he can say for himself is “I can only apologise to those I tormented.”
Along with being an amusing child, Neil Gibson is the founder of TPub Comics. You may know him from his darker titles, such as Twisted Dark or Theatrics, and if you do then you’ll know this is a huge departure from his usual work.
That said, this was made as a labour of love, and we here at TPub think that it shows.
All colours were done by Jan Wijngaard, who has been working with TPub since Twisted Dark volume 1. We loved what he did with Tortured Life so much that we brought him on board to colour not only The World of Chub Chub, but also; The Traveller, Theatrics, Transdimensional, and parts of Twisted Light. If you’re as impressed by him as we are, I highly recommend checking out his stuff here.
Lettering was done by the irreplaceable Jim Campbell, another old hat with TPub. He’s worked with us on just about all of our titles, so we won’t list them here – just know that he’s great! He can also be found on Twitter.
